Feel Brave & Strong Hypnosis for Kids | Award Winning Anxiety Hypnotherapy Brisbane | Clive Westwood

Strength is not about never feeling scared. For children, being strong can mean taking a breath when they feel worried, asking for help, trying again after a mistake and trusting that a safe adult is there to support them.

Feel Brave and Strong Hypnosis for Kids is a gentle guided resource to help children practise calmness, courage and self-belief.

Help your child feel brave from the inside

Children can feel anxious about many things: starting school, being away from a parent, talking to others, sleeping alone, making mistakes, joining sport or trying an unfamiliar activity. Sometimes they can explain the fear; sometimes it comes out as tears, anger, clinginess, tummy aches, avoidance or trouble sleeping.

A child does not have to eliminate every nervous feeling to be brave. They can learn that a feeling is temporary, that their body can settle and that they can take one safe step when they are ready.

This hypnosis session uses simple relaxation, calming imagery and encouraging language to help children imagine themselves feeling supported and capable.

Building courage one small step at a time

Confidence grows from experience. When a child takes a manageable step and gets through it, they begin to build trust in themselves.

For one child, a brave step might be putting on their school uniform. For another, it may be walking into a room, saying hello, trying a new food, raising a hand in class or staying in bed after lights-out.

The aim is never to force or rush a child. Gentle encouragement works best when it matches the child’s needs, age and current ability to cope.

A guided hypnosis session may help a child practise:

  • slow breathing during worry

  • relaxing their shoulders, face and tummy

  • imagining a calm, safe place

  • remembering their own strengths

  • using supportive words such as “I can try”

  • visualising a small, realistic next step

Strong children still ask for help

Being brave does not mean keeping problems secret. Children need to know they can speak to a parent, carer, trusted teacher or another safe adult when something is bothering them.

Never encourage a child to ignore situations or behaviour that feels unsafe, threatening, intimidating or inappropriate. If your child reports bullying, mistreatment, frightening behaviour or another concern, listen carefully and seek appropriate support from the school, childcare provider, GP or relevant safeguarding authority. If there is immediate danger, contact emergency services.

When a child needs additional support

Speak with a GP, child psychologist, paediatric professional, school counsellor or another qualified health professional if anxiety is severe, persistent, worsening or affecting sleep, school attendance, eating, friendships, play or family life.

Hypnosis is complementary support and does not replace medical, psychological, psychiatric or safeguarding care.

Frequently asked questions

Can hypnosis make my child brave and strong?

No outcome can be guaranteed. Hypnosis may help some children practise relaxation, confidence and helpful coping skills. Strength is built through safe, supported experience over time.

Is this suitable for children with anxiety?

It may be useful complementary support for some children. If anxiety is significant, ongoing or affecting daily life, seek advice from a GP, psychologist or other qualified professional.

Can children listen to this recording at bedtime?

Yes, if a parent or carer believes it is suitable. Children should listen only while safely resting at home or another safe place—never while walking, cycling, swimming, travelling near traffic or during class.

Individual results vary. Hypnotherapy is complementary support and is not a replacement for safeguarding, medical, psychological, psychiatric or emergency care.
