Hypnosis Brisbane demonstration Clear the past and be Present

This Brisbane hypnosis demonstration explores how guided relaxation and present-moment awareness can help you step back from the emotional pull of the past.

The past cannot be erased, and this video is not about recovering, verifying or changing memories. It is an educational demonstration of how some people may practise feeling safer and more grounded in the present.

The past can feel present

A difficult experience, relationship, mistake or memory can continue to affect how you feel today. You may replay what happened, feel stuck in regret, carry anger or guilt, expect the same pain to happen again or become anxious when something reminds you of the past.

“Clearing the past” is not about pretending it did not happen. It can mean reducing the way it dominates your current thoughts, emotions and choices, so you have more room to focus on your life now.

A hypnosis demonstration may show how attention can shift from mental replay to breathing, body awareness and present-day coping.

What this hypnosis demonstration may show

The video may include guided breathing, relaxation and simple imagery to help a person settle physical tension and return attention to what is happening right now.

Hypnosis is not mind control. You remain awake, aware and in control throughout. You can speak, move, ask questions or stop at any time.

This demonstration cannot provide individual assessment or treatment. It also should not be used to recover memories, establish whether a memory is accurate or make decisions about the past. Memory can be complex and imperfect.

Be present without denying your experience

Being present does not mean you need to dismiss your feelings or “get over” something before you are ready. It means noticing what is happening in this moment and choosing a small, helpful response.

You may practise:

  • slowing your breathing

  • noticing your feet on the floor or your surroundings

  • allowing an emotion without reacting immediately

  • separating a current situation from an old memory

  • focusing on what is within your control today

  • taking one manageable next step

No outcome can be guaranteed. For some people, professional mental-health support is the safest and most appropriate way to work with difficult past experiences.
