Overcome Shy Bladder & Paruresis Anxiety Hypnosis | Award Winning Anxiety Hypnotherapy Brisbane
Shy bladder, also called paruresis, can make using a toilet around other people feel stressful or impossible. You may worry about being heard, judged, rushed or unable to relax. The anxiety can then create more pressure, especially at work, school, travel, events or shared facilities.
This hypnosis recording is intended as complementary support for relaxation and anxiety-related goals. It cannot promise to overcome paruresis or treat a urinary condition.
Medical assessment comes first
Difficulty urinating can have medical causes. A GP or other qualified health professional should assess ongoing urinary difficulties before you assume they are caused by anxiety alone.
Seek urgent medical care if your bladder feels full but you cannot urinate at all. If you have pain, fever, blood in your urine or other concerning symptoms, seek medical advice promptly.
Hypnotherapy does not diagnose or treat urinary retention, bladder conditions or paruresis. It must not replace appropriate medical assessment or treatment.
Complementary hypnosis for anxiety-related goals
For someone who has received appropriate medical advice, hypnosis may be discussed as complementary support for a separate goal such as:
Practising relaxation in everyday life
Reducing general stress and physical tension
Feeling calmer before a social situation
Building confidence in public settings
Developing a less critical inner dialogue
Preparing for travel, work or events
Supporting broader anxiety-management goals
No recording or session can guarantee a particular outcome. Everyone’s circumstances are different.
Listen safely and without pressure
This recording is not a test and does not require you to force an outcome. Use it only when you can safely relax in a private, comfortable setting.
You remain aware and in control throughout hypnosis. You can pause or stop the recording at any time. Do not listen while driving, operating machinery or doing anything that requires your full attention.

Frequently asked questions
Can hypnosis overcome shy bladder or paruresis?
No recording can guarantee that it will overcome paruresis. Hypnosis is not a treatment for urinary conditions and should only be considered as complementary support after appropriate medical assessment.
Do I need to see a GP?
Yes. Ongoing difficulty urinating should be assessed by a GP or qualified health professional to rule out medical causes.
What if I cannot urinate at all?
Seek urgent medical care, particularly if your bladder feels full. This can require immediate treatment.
Do I lose control during hypnosis?
No. Hypnosis is not mind control. You remain aware and in control throughout.
Can I enquire about complementary hypnotherapy?
If you have received appropriate medical advice and wish to discuss a separate anxiety, relaxation or confidence goal, you can enquire about an appointment.
